When things are open to the world more people have a say. I believe in open software, open government and an open internet.
Wikileaks is a website that allows news and information to be offered up to the world in anonymous way. This has created a rift that have governments saying that by releasing sensitive information it could cost people their lives, while news organizations saying that what they have done is just and companies try to distance themselves.
My option is knowledge has always been powerful and the most potent information out there is that which people do not want to you to know. We live in a world full of meaningless information (#twitter) that we have to spend more and more time filtering. It is better though to have this data and need to sort it than to need the data and not have have it. It is not the issue of too hot, too cold or just right, the more the better. So with the info dump that wikileak's offer we can see the good, bad and ugly that governments might not want you the average citizens should know. But now you know, and knowing is half the battle.
